MATT MALKIN

PRESIDENT/COACH

Matt was born in Pequannock New Jersey, at the same hospital as Derek Jeter.  He was raised in Broomfield, CO.  He graduated from Monarch Highschool in Louisville, CO.  After graduation he attended Paradise Valley Community College and played under Victor Solis for 2 seasons as a catcher and 1st Baseman.  He earned all conference honors and held 4 schools hitting records, as well as received a Gold Glove for the 2017 season.  After PVCC he earned a scholarship to play at the University of Alabama under head coach Brian Bohannan.  After spending a year there, he was released and bounced back to Metro State University of Denver under Head Coach Ryan Strain.  This is where he spent his senior year of college.  During that time he broke the school home run record and single season RBI record, setting a new standard for MSU baseball.  That season earned him  the 1st Team All American Award which was the program's first in history and a chance to be signed by the San Francisco Giants, where he spent a year with them before the COVID shut downs.  After COVID, he was officially released from them and since 2021 have began my coaching career which started the Dirt Devils  I now reside in my hometown of Broomfield and have accepted an assistant coaching position  at MSU Denver where I will be coaching under Coach Strain to help get another conference championship with the goal of bringing home a national championship!  He has always loved baseball and is honored to have these possibilities to help the lives of young men continue their baseball careers and dreams.

CLINT BARMES

COACH

Clint was born and raised in Vincennes, Indiana.  He was recruited to go to Onley Central Illinois to play basketball and baseball.  After he received his Associates of Science, he transferred to Indiana State University to play baseball.  His first season he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 10th round.  This lead to 17 years of pro-ball and 13 years at the major league level.  During this time, he was a part of World Series and 4 playoff berths.  His goal moving forward with the Northside Dirt Devils is to help build a program for mental toughness - what it takes to get through failure as well as high successes.  Also, he plans to teach major league fundamentals to help further young athletes to develop into what colleges are looking for.  His ultimate goal is to establish well rounded athletes and get them to the college level.

Cam was born and raised in Berthoud Colorado. He was an all conference shortstop for Berthoud high school for three years, and was selected to play in the All State senior game as starting shortstop. He went on to play at Northeastern junior college. He played middle infield and pitched. After college he married his high school sweetheart and moved to Arizona and started their family.  They’ve been back in Colorado now for 11 years and have been raising their two boys 14 and 5.  He has continued to play baseball in the NABA league in the 18 and over mens division. He started a club team called the Colorado Aces and has been very successful with his son since 8u as a AA team to just finishing their 14u season as a competitive majors team.  He is also now on the coaching staff at Berthoud high school as the infield coach.  It’s great  for him to be back at his hometown school. He's excited to join up with the Dirt Devils and continue to share his love for the game with as many kids as he can.

LARRY GREEN

COACH

Larry grew up in Utah and played High school baseball at Orem High School.  He received a baseball scholarship from Utah Valley Community College as a catcher where he played for two years.  He set the single season record for home runs in 1994 at the age of 18.  He was drafted by the Rockies in 1994 in the 34th round, but chose to continue with college baseball at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA.  He was drafted again after his senior year at Pacific by the Dodgers where he played one season in the minor leagues as a pitcher.  He had the pleasure of playing for Vance Law at Utah Valley (former Chicago Cub) and Ed Sprague at Pacific (former Toronto Blue Jay).  He is currently a High School principal in Greeley, CO and believes that everything he has accomplished in college and beyond is a result of his baseball experience.  His goal is to use the game of baseball to turn boys into men.  He is very excited to work with your athletes!

SUE MCCUE

PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR

Sue McCue fell in love with baseball when she was just a little girl. Growing up back east, her dad and grandmother were avid Phillies fans and their enthusiasm for the game has made a lasting impression on her. Sue was a high school cross country coach, once upon a time, and is now the mother of two teenagers who love sports. Although she never played baseball herself (she was more of a runner and soccer player) she has watched her oldest son play his heart out at the game since he was 5 years old, and has been a "loyal team mom" and "dedicated scorekeeper" for many of his teams over the years. She loves cheering on our Dirt Devils and supporting their coaches and families with any and all behind the scenes details. Sue is an educator in the public schools, and has worked with kids and adults in education for all of her adult life. She feels lucky to be able to support these amazing young athletes in moving to the next level.
